Kevin's 47'th birthday!
We are finished with school for a while and starting our summer. We hope to enjoy Lake Anna this weekend on the boat and jet ski. And we are anxiously awaiting the hatching of 8 eggs that one of our Australorp hens is sitting on. She started sitting last Wed so chicks are due to hatch on Wed. June 24'th. They should be a mixture of black australorps and australorp/orpington cross. That should be an interesting cross. As for the other baby chicks, they are 5 weeks old now and free ranging with the big girls - mostly staying close to the coop so that they can hide under the hosta when they feel scared - which is alot! Guess that's why they are chickens!! Gotta love that!!
