Praying for our Children

Since we have been sharing verses back and forth for a little while it was no surprise to get the following text from my niece Kristi:
"Sorry, I know it's late up there but i had to share theses verses with u. They were part of a devo i did & my first thought is that they r a GREAT prayer for our kids. Ephesians 3:14 - 19"

Of course, I didn't get it until 6am since I was sleeping last night, so I looked it up right away. Oh, how I love God's Word and that Kristi chose to share this with me. She is on to something here. Just like any father loves to hear his child repeat back to him something he has shared with them, our heavenly Father loves it when we pray scripture back to him.  And as we know from Isaiah 55:11 God's Word does not return void but will accomplish what he desires. Thanks, Kristi for sharing another scripture I can pray right back to God for my family. from Ephesians 3:14 - 19...
Lord, I kneel before you today and thank you for allowing me and my family to derive our name from you. Out of your glorious riches I ask for you to strengthen us with power through your Spirit, so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith in you. Keep us rooted in love, so that we will have power to grasp how wide and long and high is Christ's love for us. Give my children the ability to comprehend that this love of yours surpasses knowledge so that they can be filled with your fullness always. Amen
I thought this one was familiar but couldn't remember ever praying it for my kids before. Then I just looked at our mission statement on this blog and well, we used Ephesians 3:20 - 21 to finish it out.  How cool is that!
Four of the six greatest gifts I ever got. How can I not pray for them! Hope you can figure out what Gift #1 and 2 are!
