Gaga's place is progressing along nicely! Our contractor started ahead of time and they have been working almost everyday since "breaking ground" on Dec 31st. Drywall just went up last week and was sanded and completed yesterday. The alarm company only called once to say our fire alarm was going off - dust was heavy - my WHOLE house is covered! Who knew?
We have done our part to support the Fredericksburg, Virginia economy the past few weekends. And I do have to confess that by the end of our shopping trips that I am usually in the fetal position and just plain crazy. I am NOT a decorator and picking out colors and tiles and floors and things just, well, just shoot me! Just ask Kevin....well, no don't.
Tile for the bathroom has been picked out as well as the vanity and countertop for the bathroom. (oh and the toilet too)! Kitchen cabinets and appliances will be delivered this Friday. The hardwood laminate is stacked in 47 boxes in the basement - waiting installation. We selected and purchased paint - 27 gallons of it to be exact! Trim carpentry work should start today, then painting will begin after that. I believe the only items left to select will be the new exterior door and carpet for Gaga's bedroom. Kevin is already drooling over large leather sectional sofas and big screen TV's with surround sound. Gaga seems to be okay with the thought of us turning her basement into some sort of TV watching man cave! She will have Fox News large and in surround sound!
Everyday when Kevin and I get home from work we (Kevin, Gaga and I) all take a trip downstairs to see how "it" looks. Everyday it looks a little more "done". The pictures don't tell the whole story but you can get an idea......
